Hypothalamus keeps monitoring the water concentration all over body by the help of osmoreceptors present in it and detects the solute concentration in blood.when electrolyte concentration rises in blood in comparison to water, hypothalamus stimulates the pituitary gland to release hormones. The anterior pituitary releases the protein hormones whereas posterior pituitary gland secretes polypeptide hormone ,the antidiuretic hormones (ADH) causes reabsorption of water from kidney tubules.As a result. it maintains the blood volume ,water concentration in blood and blood pressure.
