Answer #1

1. Answer- A. Insulin is secreted from the beta cells of the pancreas.

Insulin is a hormone and has no role in digestion. After the nutrients, specially glucose, are absorbed in the blood, the blood sugar level rises. In response to this, the pancreas secrete the hormone insulin, which helps to convert excess glucose in blood into glycogen that can be stored in the liver and muscle cells.

2. Answer - C. GI distention stimulates sensory afferent vagus neurons which synapse with enteric nervous system causing peristalsis

Vagus nerve plays an important role in regulating the various steps of the digestive process that also includes peristalsis, which is the contractions of the alimentary canal and is required to propel the food further down in the digestive tract.
