Answer #1

Epithelial tissue cannot regenerate while cardiac muscle can easily regrow when damaged.

FALSE.

Epithelial tissues can regrow when they are damaged. They have stem cells which is responsible for normal tissue renewal and regeneration following damage. Epithelial tissue must withstand harsh environment and wear & tear. So these stem cells replenish & repair wounds and replace cells that die due to damage.

Cardiac muscles cannot regrow when it is damaged. Once the heart is formed, the cardiac myocytes transform from immature cells to mature cells that has lost the ability to proliferate. So when there is any damage to heart these myocytes die which cannot be regenerated and thus produces a scar. Also it can lead to reduced heart function and death.

So the epithelial tissues can regenerate while cardiac muscle cannot regrow when damaged.

Thus the above statement is false.
