Dioamine is formed from 3,4- dihydroxyphenylalanin ( DOPA
).
It is formed by decarboxylation of DOPA.
It is a natural Catecholamine .
It is a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system along
with some peripheral nervous system
Dopamine is a precursor for Norepinephrine.
Dopamine has a agonist action on the beta-adrenergic receptors
and also it indirectly causing release of Norepinephrine from the
storage area in the sympathetic nerve ending.
Dopamine produces a positive chronotropic and positive
inotropic effects on the heart muscle myocardium .
This effect increases heart rate and cardiac contractility
