Spirometry is a standard test that is used to measure functioning of the lungs .It works by measuring airflow into and out of the lungs.Spirometry tests are used to diagnose COPD,asthma,restrictive lung disease and other disorders related to lung functioning.

FVC measurements are below

1.if FVC is 80% or greater then it normal

2. If FVC is less than 80% then its abnormal.

FEV1 Measurements.

80% or greater normal

70%–79% mildly abnormal

60%–69% moderately abnormal

50%–59% moderate to severely abnormal

35%–49% severely abnormal

Less than 35% very severely abnormal
