Name seven components that could be found dissolved in the plasma of blood?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Plasma is body's fluid portion in the blood which has a normal quantity volume of 3500mL which is composed majorly with water. Because the water content in the plasma is almost 91%.

The 7 dissolved components of the plasma of blood are named as water, proteins, clotting factor, electrolytes, nutrients, hormones and wastes.

The proteins like albumin, globulin, fibrinogen is dissolved in the plasma of blood which maintains the colloidal osmotic pressure. The clotting factor helps for coagulation in the plasma for the blood. The Electrolytes like Na+, K+ , Ca+ delivered to tissues and carried by the blood through plasma.

The waste from the tissues like urea carbon dioxide are carried by the blood through plasma. The nutrients like glucose fats and hormones are carried by blood through the presence of plasma by a loose bond formation.

C‐reactive protein (CRP) is a protein found in blood plasma that is a marker of inflammation. In healthy patients, its concentration is less than 0.000976 %wt in blood plasma. However, in patients with a bacterial infection, CRP levels are typically 0.0039 – 0.0195 %wt in blood plasma. To detect CRP, a BCA assay was performed (similar to the one you did in lab), in which a given volume of protein solution was mixed with 1.000 mL of the BCA working...

The density of the plasma membrane of a cell was found to be 1.06 g/mL. If the density of the lipid component is 0.90 g/mL and the density of the protein component is 1.36 g/mL, what is the percent composition (to the nearest ones) of the lipid component of the membrane, assuming the plasma membrane consists only of the lipid and protein components? ANSWER IS NOT 40

Total plasma volume is important in determining the required plasma component in blood replacement therapy for a person undergoing surgery. Plasma volume is influenced by the overall health and physical activity of an individual. Suppose that a random sample of 41 male firefighters are tested and that they have a plasma volume sample mean of x = 37.5 ml/kg (milliliters plasma per kilogram body weight). Assume that σ = 8.00 ml/kg for the distribution of blood plasma. (a) Find a...
