Explain how the respiratory and renal systems influence the buffer systems of the body.
Urinary system:
1.By the excretion of the hydrogen ions: hydrogen ions are shed into the lumen and reacts with phosphate ions to form dihydrogen hydrogen ions also reacts with the ammonia which is produced in the proximal convuluted tubule by the metabolism of glutamate to glutamine.
2.by bicarbonate reabsorption: The bicarbonate is reabsorbed from the kidneys by ghe the peritubular capillaries to maintain the buffer system.
3.New bicarbonate production:The metabolic activity of the cells produces large quantity of carbon dioxide which reacts with the water to form bicarbonate which is reabsorbed.
Respiratory system:The respiratory system alter the blood pH by increasing the rate of ventilation.Chemoreceptors present in the carotid sinus and aortic arch sense the ph change in the blood amd and alter the ventilation
