2.by bicarbonate reabsorption: The bicarbonate is reabsorbed from the kidneys by ghe the peritubular capillaries to maintain the buffer system.

3.New bicarbonate production:The metabolic activity of the cells produces large quantity of carbon dioxide which reacts with the water to form bicarbonate which is reabsorbed.

Respiratory system:The respiratory system alter the blood pH by increasing the rate of ventilation.Chemoreceptors present in the carotid sinus and aortic arch sense the ph change in the blood amd and alter the ventilation
