ANSWER: In peritoneal dialysis, abdominal pain can be a sign of infection called peritonitis. Some people who do peritoneal dialysis with a cycle machine sometimes may experience abdominal discomfort at the end of drain cycle. When once trained, it can be avoided. Abdominal pain directly indicates the infecton to the patient through dialysis. Other discomfort experienced by the patient may include constipation, potassium imbalance, weight gain, inadequate dialysis, hernia.
