answer) The petellofemoral joint is a unique joint and a complex stucture consisting of bones and ligaments. and dynamic elements like neuromuscular system.the patella has aconfiguration of a triangle with its apex directed infferiorly ans superiroly it articulates with the trochlea a distal articulatinng surface of the femur which is the main articulating surface of the patellofemoral joint. it lies in the quadriceps tendon therby increases the mechanical advantage of quadriceps mecahnism. and also imporatnt for knee flexion.
