Why
increased catabolism of fats?
In all the three conditions mentioned above the catabolism of fat increases because
Glucose (carbohydrate is the primary source of energy) is catabolised 1st .
but if person keeps on starving their carbohydrate stores get vanished.
so the body will start converting stored fat into glucose by a process called gluconeogenesis to continuously supply glucose to the cell until food is taken.
similarly it occurs when carbohydrate is not taken in diet then body will switch to bext source of energy i.e. fat
in diabetic ketoacidosis the cells are not able to take up glucose due to insulin deficiency in body, so the body sense this condition as absence of glucose in bloood so it start catabolising fat to increase blood glucose levels.
