Answer #1

According to epicurus, the human body is composed of atoms of different sizes and shapes. Soul atoms are particularly fine, the most easily moving, distributed throughout the body and they are the means by which persons have sensations and experience pleasure and pain.

Epicurus believed that death was not to be feared. When a man dies, he doesnot feel the pain of death because he is no longer and therefore feels nothing. It is well explained by his saying, '' death is nothing to us''. When we exists, death is not; and when death exists, we are not. The fear of death arises from the belief that in death, there is awareness.

Thus, the fear to face death will be reduced to some extent by his view.
