Nociceptors and non-nociceptor somatosensory neurons both have their cell bodies located in the dorsal root ganglion or trigeminal ganglion.

Trigeminal nerve supplies the head and neck region of the body.

These is counted in peripheral nervous system, as the ganglion is outside the spinal cord.
