describe how ATP demand and energy system contribution changes with changes in exercise intensity

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Adenosine triphosphate is the key source of energy utilized while contracting muscles. The body do not store a large amount of ATP. During exercise, cells initiate the biosynthesis of ATP inside the mitochondria.

The system of energy production depends on the type of exercise

  • The slow proceeding exercise results in aerobic pathway for producing energy (ATP).
  • When intense workout is performed, along with aerobic pathway, anaerobic pathway also operates to produce energy.
