vasoconstriction of the afferent arteriole _____ resistance of the afferent arteriole and ____

vasoconstriction of the afferent arteriole _____ resistance of the afferent arteriole and ____

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Vasoconstriction of the afferent arteriole increases resistance of the afferent arteriole and efferent arterioles.

The sum total resistance of efferent and afferent arteriole due to their constriction aids in determination of renal blood flow. At constant blood pressure, the afferent arteriole constriction decreases blood flow as well as filtration pressure. The efferent arteriole constriction decreases blood flow, however, there is an increase in filtration pressure.
