The diagnosis of the old man's condition is kidney stone which is passed into his ureter.

Suggested treatment:

Stones with minimal symptoms:

  • drinking plenty of water
  • pain relievers
  • Use of alpha blockers,the medicine which relaxes the ureter muscles to flush the stone out.

Large stones:

  • Percutaneous nephrolithotomy
  • Extra corporeal shock wave lithotripsy

Prognosis:

Most ot the stone pass out by its own and treatments are available to remove large stones.But people who ahd kidney stone is at risk for developing kidney stones again.

Chemical composition of urine:

Calcium oxalate,calciym phosphate,uric acid and struvite

Possible treatments include:

  • Medical therapy which includes administration of pain killers
  • Extracorporael shock wave lithotripsy
  • Percutaneous nephrolithotomy
