- Heart failure is a chronic , progressive condition in which
heart muscle is unable to enough blood to meet the body's need for
blood and oxygen.
- Extra fluid in the circulation build up in the lungs , the
liver , around eyes and sometimes in the legs, this is called
congestion.Hence heart failure is called congestive heart
failure.
Symptoms of heart failure:-
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue and weakness
- Swelling ( edema) in legs , ankles and feet.
- Heart failure can be ongoing called chronic or a condition
which suddenly start (acute).
There are 4 types of heart failure:-
- Left-sided heart failure
- Right- sided heart failure
- Systolic heart failure
- Diastolic heart failure.
