  • Natural killer cells are a kind of lymphcyte (agranular white blood cell).
  • They are functionally involved in innate immune system.
  • They mainly kill cells affected by virus.
  • NK cells attach to infected cell and release perforins by exocytosis. Perforins degrade cell membrane and allow certain enzymes to enter the cell.
  • These enzymes dgame cellular components and cell died.
  • The dead cells is then engulfed by macrophages.
  • They also function to recognize and destroy tumor cells.
