Answer #1

ANSWER - RESPIRATION IN HUMAN BEINGS

  • First step is Intake of Oxygen to the lungs through nostrils. While breathing (inhalation) Diaphragm contracts and moves downward. Air passed through the bronchioles reaches alveolar sac in alveoli.
  • Exchange of gases - another step is exchange of gases to the tissues and cells by the help of blood vessels and Cappilleries. Oxygen is diffused into the bloodstream and reached the required locations. From there deoxygenated blood is carried back to the alveoli.
  • Exhalation of carbon dioxide - Carbon dioxide is exhaled through the nostrils this process is known as Expiration. During this Diaphragm relaxes volume of thoracic cavity decreases. Insufficient amount of oxygen in lungs. Which initiates for the inhalation.

Glycolysis requires ATP and yet is an important step in cellular respiration - the process by which we make ATP. How can this be? Glycolysis requires a net ATP input but produces GTP, which is needed for the rest of cellular respiration Glycolysis results in a net ATP output Glycolysis is not part of respiration, it is only used in fermentation Glycolysis requires a net ATP input, but produces carbon dioxide, which is needed for the rest of cellular respiration

Many of our simple sugars and complex carbohydrates are made of glucose, galactose and fructose. In the body, these molecules are converted into energy via numerous pathways including cellular respiration. What are the final products of cellular respiration? In summary, what has happened to the glucose molecule? (Note: This question is not asking for a detailed description of the pathway and the steps but instead a comparison of the glucose molecule to the final product.)
