In this case the part of brain affected is left side of the cerebrum. In the cerebrum the Broca's area is affected. The Broca's area is responsible for turning ideas into thoughts and thoughts into spoken words. When Broca's area gets damaged then the person finds difficulty in speaking clearly, the speech becomes slurry and and the speaking becomes slow due to difficulty in producing sounds of speech and the person is not able to express. The person tends to speak short sentences with three to four words. This condition is called as Broca's aphasia. Problem of speaking or understanding speech is called as aphasia.
