How does coffee affect blood osmolarity, ADH, and aldosterone levels?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Coffee contain caffiene. Caffiene cause decrease in blood osmolarity since it's mild diuretic effect.decrease in blood osmolarity leads to increased water loss.    Due to caffeine's mild diuretic effect,it inhibits the secretion of the antidiuretic hormone (ADH), so it increases diuresis, but this effect is small and transient.

Caffiene cause a small increase in blood pressure in normal persons.Aldosterone cause retentiin of sodium and water which leads to increase in blood volume which in turn leads to increase in blood pressure. In this clear that caffeine cause increase in aldosteron level and cause increase in blood pressure
