1) Kidney (Juxtaglomerular cells) ---- Renin

  • Renin helps in conversion of angiotensinogen to angiotensin - I.



2) Liver --- Angiotensinogen

  • Angiotensinogen is the precusor for hormone angiotensin. Renin acts on angiotensinogen to produce angiotensin - I.
  • An enzyme called Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) is produced by lungs to convert angiotensin - I into angotensin-II.

3) Adrenal cortex (Zona glomerulosa) ---- Aldosterone

  • Angotensin-II triggers release of aldosterone.
  • Aldosterone acts on distal convoluted tubule of nephron and stimulate reabsorption of NaCl.
