What are two types of active transport and five examples.
There are 2 types of active transport :
1) Primary Active transport - Energy derived by itself to transport ion
E.g. Na+K+ATPase pump
2) Secondary actve transport -- Energy derived from transport of some other ion
a)Co-transport - Transport in the direction of primary ion flow.
E.g. NaGlucose Symport.(SGLT)
Na Phosphate Co-transport ( NaPi IIa/b)
Na Iodide Symporter (NIS)
Na+/K+/Cl- Co-transporter
K+/Cl- Co-transporter
b) counter tranport - transport indirection opposite to direction of primary ion flow
E.g. Na+Ca2+ antiport
c) Uniport
