ANSWER -

  • Kidney conserves water by diluting urine by moving through the henlys loop and then concentrating urine in the distal convoluted tubules and collecting ducts.
  • Nephrons are made up of renal tubules and blood vessels. Which helps in filtering wastes and preservation of water balance in the body.
  • proximal convoluted tubules reabsorbs most of the water back into the body. Water is reabsorbed by a process called Osmosis, movement of water from an high concentratedarea to low concentrated area through a permeable membrane.
  • Glomerular filtrate become more concentrated, which is one of the steps in forming urine.
  • Distal convoluted tubule helps in maintaining water balance in body by the contols of hormones which adjusts the permeability of the tubule walls to water. If body needs more water this helps to act accordingly.

In this lab, the point was to find out if mass and volume are conserved in a chemical experiment. Water was added to water and measurments were taken. Then, Water was added to acetone and the same measurement were taken. I know that mass is conserved and volume is not. I do not understand the following questions: Does the order of adding water to acetone or acetone to water change anything? Why or why not? During this particular experiment, the...
