What is the more realistic leg muscle efficiency for walking up the stairs? Please explain.

a) 48%

B) .049%

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Most realistic leg muscles efficiency while walking stairs upward is option a 48%

Yes this is the mechanical work outputs and metabolic value and it's ratio

So in case of walking up stairs the mechanical output is moderate and the metabolic value will also be a moderate rage giving almost the ratio to be approximately 50%

For muscle efficiency to be less than 1 then the metabolic value should be almost twice the value of Mechanical work which is not possible in case of walking up stairs
