tissues and functions

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Tissue are group of cells which works together in a coordinated manner to perform specific function. There are four kind of tissue system in our body-

1. Epithelial tissue- these tissue mainly forms the outer covering of various organs and provide protection.

2. Connective tissue-  as the name says, the connective tissue binds and integrate other tissues. It supports other tissues and provide them with nutrients and oxygen.

3. Muscular tissue- these provide strength to body. The muscles are responsible for movement of body.

4. Nervous tissue-. The nervous tissue functions to integrate each and every system of body. Nervous system control the functioning of other system by releasing various stimulus.

Researchers claim that 60 tissues is the average number of tissues a person uses during the course of a cold. The company that makes Kleenex brand tissues thinks that the average person doesn’t need as many for a cold if their tissues are used. What are their null and alternative hypotheses? Kimberly Clark Corporation’s Kleenex packages contain 60 tissues because their researchers determined that 60 tissues is the average number of tissues used during a cold. There is concern, though, that the tissue counting machine is not working properly. Suppose a random sample of 91 Kleenex packages contains an average of 52 tissues with a standard deviation of 22 tissues. Determine whether the tissue counting machine needs to be recalibrate to ensure the Kleenex packages contain an average of 60 tissues....

How many tissues should a package of tissues contain? Researchers have determined that a person uses an average of 40 tissues during a cold. Suppose a random sample of 10,000 people yielded the following data on the number of tissues used during a cold: Using the sample information provided, set up the calculation for the test statistic for the relevant hypothesis test, but do not simplify.
