The body's organ systems work together to maintain homeostasis. Discuss low blood pressure, where to reach homeostasis, it requires multiple (preferably three or more) organ systems to work together to restore balance.
Multiple organs works together to regulate low blood pressure
1. The nervous system regulate low BP by increasing sympathetic activity and decreasing parasympathetic activity. This cause vasoconstriction and increases heart rate which eventually increases BP.
2. The Renal system also regulate BP. Low BP stimulate release of renin hormone from kidneys. This cause release of angiotensin 2 which acts on blood vessels to cause vasoconstriction. This increase BP.
3. The endocrine system regulate BP by releasing many hormones. Adrenaline, noradrenalin, angiotensin, serotonin increase BP while hormones like bradykinin and ANP cause decrease in BP.
