Answer #1

Ans:- C) Hypothyroidism due to a lack of iodine in the diet.

All the features mentioned can be explain by hypothyroidism .

I) fatigue is due to less availability of body energy .

The main function of thyroid hormone is to maintain a energetic state in the body by increasing BMR and increasing utilisation of fat and carbohydrate to generate energy.

Goiter refers to the enlargement of thyroid gland due to dietary deficiency of iodine.

Due to deficiency of thyroid hormones in blood TSH secretion is increased.

Increased TSH causes increased cellularity and hyperplasia of the thyroid gland in an attempt to normalize thyroid hormone levels. If this process is sustained, a goiter is established.
