Answer #1

Answer

TNM system is standarized criteria to classify and determine the amount and extent of the cancer in the body.

T = Tumor

N = Node

M = Metastasis

Tumor is classified on the scale of Tx to T4

Node is classified on the scale of Nx to N3

Metastasis is classified on the scale of Mx to M1

  • High numbers are more severe as 0 denotes "no evidence of the tumor, node involvement or metastasis" while the highest number denotes involvement of associated structures along with tumor, node involvement or metastasis of the primary organ.
