Answer #1

A. Decreased fluid waves

  • Stapes footplate is attached at oval window. Stapes along with malleus and incus help to transmit sound wave from tympanic membrane to cochlea. Oval window is present in cochlea and vibration is stapes lead to vibration of fluid (endolymph) of cochlea. This helps in perception of sound. Tympanic membrane is external to oval window.
  • Middle ear is external to oval window.
