Answer #1

Tendons is made up of fibrous connective tissue which connects bone to muscle and it helps in the efficient movement of bone structures.Due to absence of cells in tendon which helps in regeneration , it can't undergo matrix turnover because the tenocytes is no more capable repairing them. Tendon has tenocytes which synthesize the matrix component and enzyme matrix metalloproteinases during lifetime This is the reason, healing process is very slow, it repair themselves by their own and takes longer time to repair. Minor tendon injury repair on their own but major tendon injury can't be repaired fully.
