because in breast cancer axillary lymph nodes involved . These lymph nodes are involved in draining both breast and upper limbs. In breast cancer two to three group of lymph nodes are involved . Because of breast cancer, these two to three group of lymph nodes are removed during breast cancer surgery.

Lymph nodes are involved in draining of lymph from  the particular region .

if these lymph nodes are removed it causes the accumulation of lymph in the Arm and leads to swelling of lymph in the arm.
