Answer :-There are mainly 3 classes of hormone

1.Amino-Acid based - water soluble (Hydrophilic)

- amines (simple amino acid)

-peptides (short chains of amino acids)

-proteins (long chains of amino acids)

Example :-epinephrine and norepinephrine........

2.Steroids - lipid soluble (Hydrophilic)

-synthesized from cholesterol

- Only gonadal and adrenocortical hormones are steroids

Example :- testosterone and estrogen are steroid hormones..

3.Eicosanoids - active lipids made from arachidonic acid
