Answer #1

The concentric contraction is a muscle activation type which tends to generate force as the muscle shortens and hence helps in the movement. These are important core exercise which helps in strengthening core and obliques. It helps in increasing the isometric control of core. The concentric types which are used in Russian Twist during raising and lowering are the obliques. In this these are the core muscles called oblique which helps with the concentric movement and hence helps in sidebending of the core muscles.

The joints which are used during the Russian Twist are the ribs and hip joint and while performing the exercise, it shortens the distance between these joints. Generally during this exercise it helps in flexing the hip joints.
