tRNA is known as Transfer ribonucleic acid. It is a loopy, twisted molecule. It has three distinct loops and is attached to a specific amino acid.
Protein synthesis is also known as translation. In translation, the cell uses the genetic information from mRNA for synthesis of proteins. During the process of protein synthesis, mRNA anticodons bind to the codon of the mRNA. The role of tRNA is to recognize a specific codon and to deliver the corresponding amino acid. Each codon is recognized by a tRNA, which binds to the amino acid.
Interaction of tRNA with mRNA and ribosomes:
tRNAs interacts with mRNA in translation phase i.e translation of mRNA sequence to a chain of amino acids. tRNA binds to the A and P sites of ribosomes.
