How will increased metabolic needs around the body affect GFR?

How will increased metabolic needs around the body affect GFR?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans:- as we know that in metabolic syndrome GFR decreases so GRF should increase with increase metabolic need of the body.

As metabolic needs of the body increases both metabolites and waste products are produced in the body .

As we know that waste products are filtered out by the blood so to increase the removal of waste product GFR increases.

Plus increases metabolism aslo increases the rate of flow of blood so more blood will reach glomerulus more GFR.

Increases metabolism produce various vasodilatory substances like lactice acid CO2 which cause dilatation of afferent arterioles hence blood flow to glomerulus increases.

Nutritional needs for your body can have an affect on your appetite. Think back to a time when you felt either full or hungry. Discuss the following 1. How did your body feel? 2. What did you feel like eating/What had you eaten? 3. Knowing what you do about body signals and appetite would you have changed what you ate/had eaten? If yes, why? If no, why not?

When someone has fever the body’s temperature is increased abnormally. This increases metabolic activities in the body, resulting in the production of more heat and further increasing the body’s temperature. Explain why the patient still feels very cold and even in some cases, shivers when there is so much heat in the body. [20 marks]

A person's body is producing energy internally due to metabolic processes. If the body loses more energy than metabolic processes are generating, its temperature will drop. If the drop is severe, it can be life-threatening. Suppose a person is unclothed and energy is being lost via radiation from a body surface area of 1.24 m2, which has a temperature of 34 °C and an emissivity of 0.582. Suppose that metabolic processes are producing energy at a rate of 105 J/s....
