Privileging is defined as the right of a practitioner who is practising medical to supply and provide the respective medical care which is consistent according to the training that he has done, the experience he has gained and the competency based on his knowledge one has.

In terms of the legal rights to the medical practitioner, privileging is an approval given to the medical officer/practitioner to work in the field of medical care and he/she is allowed to recommend and practice the medicinal usages that he/she has in their respective field.
