In the lub-dub sound of a heartbeat, the lub is louder. Why is this?
Ans:-
concept:- force of contraction of atria > force of contraction of ventricle.
As we know that lib sound is produce when bicuspids and tricuspid valve close during ventricular contraction . And 2 Nd heart sound is produce when atrium contract.
as force of contraction of ventricle are more so contraction of ventricle closes the valves with more forces in comparison to atrial contraction.
Plus positioning of bicuspid and tricuspid valve are more close to apex of heart and it is more close to outside chest wall also in comparison to pulmonary and arotic valve due to which transmission of sound is more clear.
