  • Two main functions - Gametogenesis and Endocraine function.
  • Gametogenesis - production or release of ovum.
  • Endocrain function of ovary is secreation of human female sex hormones.
  • Menstrual Cycle is another function of ovary.

REGULATORY FUNCTION OF OVARY -

  • Ovary secreate both eastrogen and progesterone into the blood stream.
  • They are important endocrain gland.
  • Estrogen stimulates development of secondary sex characteristics and the maturation of ovarian follicle.
  • ​​​​​​​They both participate in Menstrual cycle happens in females.
