Ans- Gonads are male and female reproductive organs. Testes are the gonads in males and ovaries are the gonads in females.

The two main functions of testes are they produce male gamete sperm by the process of spermatogenesis. The second function is they secrete hormones called testosterone which is responsible for producing secondary sexual characteristics in males and helps in transport of sperm to the ovum.

The functions of ovaries are the production of female gamete ovum by the process of oogenesis. The second function is production of female hormone estrogen which produces secondary sexual characteristics in females.
