The most important system which controls reproductive physiology is endocrine system. Endocrine system controls majority of functions of reproductive system by release of various hormones. For example, the female characters, development of female genitalia are all controlled by the hormone called estrogen.
Another important system which controls reproductive system is nervous system. For example, the hypothalamus ( part of brain) release a hormone called GnRH ( gonadotropin releasing hormone). This hormone stimulate anterior pituitary to release LH(luteinizing hormone) and FSH (follicle stimulating hormone). Both these hormones stimulate the ova to secrete estrogen which control female reproductive characters.
