1. Based on the complexity of the GI system, herbivores can be classified into 3 types. They are

  • Concentrate selectors: Can digest limited or no fiber
  • Intermediate feeders: Can digest intermediate fiber
  • Roughage feeders: Can digest high volume fiber.

2. The 3 mechanisms which urinary system uses are as follows

  • Manipulation of Extracellular fluid electrolytes helps in balancing blood pH
  • Renal excretion of excess acid or base
  • Renal compensation mechanism in conditions such as respiratory / metabolic alkalosis or acidosis
