1. Discuss and compare internal and external respiration

2. Discuss the factors that affect blood flow in the vasculature and their relationship to blood pressure.

Answer #1

ANSWER : 1)

External respiration is only the exchange of gases between lungs and atmosphere while internal respiration is a complex process that occurs in the mitochondria of body cells and energy generates by the burning of glucose with oxygen (oxidation).

2) The flow of blood in the vessels (arteries and veins) is determined by several factors such as contraction strength (contractility) of heart, diameter of vasculature and also depends on the necessity of the body physiology. The blood pressure is directly related to vasculature blood flow, as the higher the vasculature lower the blood pressure and solute concentration in blood plasma also affect the pressure of blood.
