The heart rate increases to cope up with the increasing blood pressure and to supply blood to all parts of the body m the power output is directly proportional the energy expenditure and when the energy expenditure increase oxygen demand occur their by increasing heart rate to supply oxygen for energy production.

Running upstairs will lead to increase in energy output and it will lead to more energy output when compared to walking upstairs . The heart rate increases all of a sudden increasing the heart rate and after some time the energy output decrease when exhaustion of energy occur
