Please describe which local control mechanism(s) will be used in the coronary arterioles to try to ensure proper blood flow to the coronary capillaries. (Be sure to include the stimulus that elicits the local control mechanism, what happens, and why that will help to ensure proper blood flow).
The local factors that will ensure proper coronary blood flow during increased demands are
1. Adenosine formation from the breakdown of ATP which will cause the dilation of the coronary blood vessels and thus increases the blood flow
2. Similarly H+ ions, nitric oxide are all cause vasodilation and increases the coronary blood flow
3. When needed, the oxygen extraction capacity of the myocardium is further increased to meet the increased oxygen demand during work
Hope this helps... Thank you!!!
