sahlis method or acid hematin method - Hemoglobin is converted to aacid hematin by N/10 HCL, the resulting brown color is compared with standard brown glass reference blocks. The intensity of the brown color depends upon on the amount of acid hematin produced, which in turn depends on the amount of hemoglobin in blood sample.
