An event related potential is the measured brain response that is the direct result of a specific sensory ,cognitive or motor event.

2. The advantages of a cerebral cortex with gyri and sulci are it allows to fold a maximum quantity of neurons which are in the limited area of the skull for mental processes.

Because the humans perform more complex level of mental processes which they require more neurons to perform these activity therefore human brain is more heavily folded.
