Using your figures (try and remember what it was the last time you went to the doctor, or if you have access to a portable BP cuff, use that) as a reference, what do you think, concerning postural changes, would happen in HR and BP measurements?. Describe the physiological mechanisminvolved (Hint: One of the stroke volume slides and what we spoke about with HR and SBP with increasing intensity)
my blood pressure reading last time at the doctors was 117/80
Blood pressure drops from supine to sitting and from sitting to standing position.
While Heart rate Increases from supine to sitting and then from sitting to standing position.
It occurs pulling of blood(due to gravitational pull) into compliant venous sytem on changing posture from supine to sitting and from sitting to standing position. This Decreases venous return to the heart and hence decreses stroke volume thereby causing fall in blood pressure.
As blood pressure falls there is reflex stimulation of heart and hence HR Increases.
