The ball and socket joints in human body have greatest range of motion and considered as less stable. There are only two pairs of ball and socket joints in the human body. They are ,

  • Hip joint
  • Glenohumeral joint of shoulder.

The round headed femur articulates with the acetabulum of pelvic bone and the round headed humerus articulates with the glenoid fossa of the sholder blade. This joints have greater range of motion due to the rounded head rests in the cup like structure and they will structurally unstable or least stable.
