Blood Film Examination Write about the purpose of this lab. What did you notice? Where are these cells/components found and their significance in human body? Introduce all the abnormalities that can occur in the Red Blood Cells (RBCs) as mentioned below. Mention the reason why they occur and what is their effect on the human body.

Ans - Blood film examination helps to diagnose the abnormalities in shape ,size and number of RBCs, WBCs and platelets .This is mainly done to find anbormalites in the components of blood .These cells are found in blood in human body. Red blood cells helps to carry oxygen to the body tissues and exchange of gases.White blood cells hepls fight against various diseases. Platelets helps in the clotting of blood .Various abnormalities that occur in RBC are hemolytic anemia ,thalasemia ,sickle cell anaemia . Hemolytic anemia is mainly occur because of breaking down of RBCs . It causes anemia and deficiency of blood in body.Thalasemia mainly occur due to the abnormality in protein haemoglobin and deficiency of RBCs.Sickle cell anemia the RBCs become sticky and start breaking and destroying of RBCs.
