FLEXOR CARPI RADIALIS LONGUS

FLEXOR CARPI means flexion of the wrist

So, the function of the flexor carpi radialis longus is flexion of the wrist and ABDUCTION (RADIAL) of the wrist

flexor carpi radialis longus is located in the flexor compartment( anterior ) of the forearm

Orgin: it orginate from the medial epicondyle of the humerus.

insertion: it is attached to the 2nd metacarpel bone and a small tip to the 3rd metacarpel and trapezial tuberosity.

In the forearm it is lateral to the flexor digitorum superficialis and it crosses in to the lateral aspect of the forearm and when it reaches the wrist it will be the latermost structure in the forearm.

Nerve supplying : median nerve

Blood supply: from the branches of ulnar artery.
